If you're a first-time visitor at Hinckley Chiropractic Center, you'll need to give us some information about your background, medical history and the nature of your condition. This is so that we can provide the best possible care, tailored to your specific circumstances.
A bit of paperwork
We will need to fill out forms that provide general information about you and your condition. You will need to bring your insurance information, photo ID, any x-rays or scans, and any significant medical information.
During your first consultation with the doctor, you'll discuss any health-related issues and concerns. You will also learn about potential treatment options.
History and examination
In order to pinpoint the problem, the doctor will ask you a number of questions related to your condition. A variety of targeted tests will be performed to determine which tissues are affected and to what extent.
Your specific condition may require x-rays to be taken to either rule out more serious conditions or assist us in assessing the most effective treatment plan for you.
Patients will generally undergo their first treatment on their first visit after the examination and x-rays are completed. This may include spinal adjustments and physical therapy.
Before leaving, you will be given instructions on certain activities or procedures to be conducted at home. This may include ice or heat applications, avoidance of certain activities or positions, as well as home exercises.
Scheduling the next appointment
Regular treatment is essential to the process. We work our treatments around your schedule. Generally speaking, patients are seen within 1-2 days of their initial visit and are provided with a complete review of findings. Treatment options for your condition will also be discussed at this time.
